How I got started hunting Mountain Cur tree dogs

I had been an avid mountain bike racer and steep creek whitewater kayaker.  Due to several near misses while engaging in these activities and the ever growing realization that I was getting OLD, I decided it was time to find a new sport!  I had always loved dogs and thought that owning a hunting dog that I could enjoy the outdoors with would be the way to go!  The research began, and when the dust settled I decided the Mountain Cur was the breed I wanted.

I got my first pup named Sherlock in March of 2005 from Dale Martin of Flat Natural Mountain View Curs.  I liked him so much that it wasn't long before I was on the search again.  This time I got an excellent female pup that I named Cheyenne from "Pa" Roy Pennell, of Pennell's Mountain View Curs.  Both these dogs turned out to be not only excellent hunting dogs but perfect companions as well!  I have continued to add to my stock and joined the UMCA in their efforts to reunite the Mountain Cur Breed.  As a result I have plans to make some hybrid vigor crosses between different Mountain Cur bloodlines that I think will be top notch!  Check my Pups page for more info on my Hybrid Vigor Breeding Plan
